PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle which can be made short, stabilizes the force when a plug ferrule is inserted into or pulled from, and having favorable reproducibility of connection loss. SOLUTION: The optical receptacle is constituted of a fiber stab 1 prepared by inserting and fixing an optical fiber into a through hole of a ferrule, a holder 5 fixing the rear end of the fiber stab 1, and a sleeve 4 inserted into the fiber stab 1.
