PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which quickly dries ink discharged onto recording paper, makes a high quality printing on the recording paper, and speeds up the printing. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer makes a recording head 3a mounted in a carriage 2 reciprocating in a main scanning direction substantially orthogonal to a sub scanning direction, discharge ink so that an image is printed on recording paper P to be carried in the sub scanning direction in a housing. In the front of the carriage 2, a blade part 20 is provided which is constituted of: a thin plate-like fin 21 arranged substantially orthogonal to the main scanning direction; and a holder part 22 holding the fin 21. Following reciprocation of the carriage 2, air hits against the fin 21, and the front end of the fin 21 is bent in the direction opposite to the moving direction of the carriage 2. Air around the fin 21 is thereby moved, and part of the air hits the recording paper P to quickly dry ink attached to the recording paper P. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
