PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet degradation detector capable of detecting wet degradation before a plug or a socket is carbonized, capable of inhibiting erroneous detection even though the load is an inverter. SOLUTION: The wet degradation detector comprises: a LPF 4 for removing high frequency components of >500 Hz; a stop/standby detection part 12 for detecting the stop/standby state of the connection load 6; a current peak value operation part 14 for operating the peak value of electric circuit current eliminated with high frequency components and its phase; number of times count part 15 for outputting the discharge generation signal, if the current detected current peak value is≥300 mA, and generates once per half cycle of the electric circuit voltage; and a degradation determination part 16 for determining the generation of wet degradation, if the discharge generation signal is generated≥100 times per five seconds.
