The method involves using the data stored in the memory (14) of a digital card (15), for route planning and destination guidance. The card data of the navigation system (11) is drawn at data expense, for determining the cost-optimized route. The optimized route is retrieved for determining the time and cost, where the time delays are accepted with respect to quick route variation. An independent claim is also included for a device for distributing data, particularly for operation of navigation system.
