MODELING APPARATUS, MODELING METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for determining an appropriate corresponding point which corresponds to a representative point on a surface of a standard model.

SOLUTION: A modeling apparatus is equipped with a means for acquiring the standard model on a subject and a model creating means for creating a model on the subject by transforming the standard model by a model fitting method. The model creating means determines the corresponding point which corresponds to the representative point MC on the surface of the standard model by selecting a point QX4 where a corresponding point evaluation function is optimized out of a plurality of candidate points QXi existing on the contour of the subject in measurement data and transforms the standard model to optimize a model evaluation function including elements on a relative positional relationship between the representative point and the corresponding point to the representative point. Moreover, the corresponding point evaluation function includes angle information calculated from information on the orientation of the surface of the standard model in the representative point MC and information on the orientation of a straight line connecting a focused candidate corresponding point MQ and the representative point MC.
