PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor which can improve its performance by securing the stack thickness of a rotor, and a compressor which is equipped with the motor at low cost. SOLUTION: In this motor 4 comprising a stator 6 and a rotor 7 with a built-in magnet rotating within this stator 6, the rotor 7 is equipped with a rotor core 15 and a magnet (permanent MG) inserted in this rotor core 15, and the rotor core 15 is constituted by stacking iron plates 14 for rotation consisting of electromagnetic steel plates, and each iron plate 14 for rotor is equipped with dowel parts 21 and 22 which have projections at their mutually opposing faces, and also the dowel part 21 and the dowel part 22 are arranged in mutually different positions in adjacent iron plates 14 for rotation.
