A washing machine having a balancer is provided to reduce noise caused by collision by delaying discharge of viscous fluid filled in a space between mass bodies when the mass bodies flowing in a race are mutually approached. A washing machine having a balancer comprises a housing, a rotary tub rotatably placed in the housing, and a balancer(20) installed at the rotary tub. The balancer comprises a balancer housing(21) having a race as a ring shaped space inside, plural mass bodies(22), whose two ends consist of flat surface parts(22a), arranged in the race, and a viscous fluid, which is received in the race, having a predetermined viscosity. The mass bodies are shaped like cylinder. |
