PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document conveying device capable of suppressing the jumping of paper. SOLUTION: This automatic document conveying device 1 installed on the upper surface 3 of the body of an image forming device comprises a document placement part 4 for placing a document thereon, a document conveying passage 7 for conveying the document from the document placement part to a document discharge part 5 from which the document is discharged, a document reading unit 30 having, in the document conveying passage 7, a document reading surface 31 for reading the image data of the document conveyed thereto, and a guide plate 40 for guiding the document disposed on the upstream side of the document reading surface 31 and fed thereto onto the document reading surface 31 of the document fed thereto.
