A multimedia message reception rejecting method of a mobile communication terminal and the mobile communication terminal for performing the method are provided to send a reception rejecting message to an MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service) center previously before a multimedia message is brought from the MMS center, thereby preventing unwanted data charges from being applied to a user by message retrieving. A notification message indicative of arrival of a multimedia message is received from an MMS center(S310). Title information of the multimedia message and address information of a person who writes the multimedia message are confirmed from a predetermined field of the notification message(S320). It is confirmed whether the address information is identical with a reception rejecting address set by a user(S330). It is confirmed whether a title of the multimedia message contains reception rejecting words set by the user(S330). If so, a rejecting message for rejecting reception of the multimedia message is transmitted to the MMS center(S340,S350).
