<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a readily soluble granular composition readily dissolving a water-soluble polymer having properties of thickening and/or gelling without causing lumping even under weak stirring conditions such as hand stirring with a spatula, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the readily soluble granular composition comprises adding a lumping inhibitor characterized as comprising sugar beet pectin to the water-soluble polymer having the properties of thickening and/or gelling.
