PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the vertical dimension and the longitudinal dimension of the door device of an elevator. SOLUTION: This door device 1 of an elevator comprises a hanger case 6 secured to the front upper part of an elevator car 2 and a driven pulley 7 and a drive pulley 8 fitted to both the right and left ends of the hanger case 6. An annular belt 9 is stretched between the driven pulley 7 and the drive pulley 8. Doors 4, 5 are connected to a belt 9. The drive pulley 8 is rotatably supported on a bearing housing secured to the hanger case 6 through a rotating shaft, and driven by a motor 30 having a rotor 26 formed integrally with the drive pulley 8. A pulse generator is disposed on the left side of the rotor 26. A roller 33 is fitted to the rotating shaft of the pulse generator.
