PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a liquid cosmetic from spouting out due to the rise of pressure in a cosmetic container body having a wiping member for wiping the liquid cosmetic such as mascara when an application rod is inserted into the container body, and to prevent the uneven distribution of the liquid cosmetic remaining in an application part. SOLUTION: A longitudinal rib 33 is arranged in the application rod 31 and a stroke piece 75 constituting a wiping part and formed in a substantially downward conical shape is made to abut on a stopper 81 for restricting the upper deformation of the stroke piece. Consequently, wiping in the application rod from the outer circumference of the application part to the end of the application part is reliably performed and also the uneven distribution of the liquid cosmetic remaining in the application part is eliminated. The longitudinal rib formed in the outer circumference of the application rod forms a gap between the application rod and the stroke piece to relieve the pressure in the container body for storing the liquid cosmetic. Thus, the liquid cosmetic is prevented from spouting out from the container body together with compressed air when the application rod is inserted and extracted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
