The method involves detecting context-related base data of e.g. the phase of a drive, a control history of a user e.g. driver of a vehicle, and a traffic condition in the environment and/or on the route of a vehicle. The base data is interpreted such that situation-dependent context data is obtained. A control goal probable for the user is determined in dependence of the context data. A visual representation e.g. dialogue window, assigned to the control goal is displayed, where the visual representation is effected by a pop-up dialogue. An independent claim is also included for a control device for a vehicle.
