<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic dye having an absorption band corresponding for use as a blue laser, highly soluble in organic solvents such as cellosolve solvents, difficultly crystallize during solvent vaporization in a thin film forming process such as casting and suitable to use for a blue laser light recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: New compounds of 4-phenylarylidene hydantoin derivatives shown by the general formula are used as organic dyes, wherein R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>3</SB>each represent H, a halogen atom, a cyano group or a 1-20C alkyl group, and R<SB>4</SB>represents a 1-20C alkyl group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
