A system for managing a device by using an OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) master DMC and a method thereof are provided to improve response speed and prevent network overload by enabling a master DMC to manage information of lower DMCs by dividing continuously the lower DMC information into static information and dynamic information. A DMS(200) communicates with a DMC through a predetermined protocol, transmits a management instruction to the DMC, receives a response with respect to the transmitted management instruction, and performs the management of a device. A master DMC(100) transmits a handling instruction requested from the DMS to a lower DMC(10,20,30,40) to perform a management instruction or processes and responds to the handling instruction requested from the DMS to the lower DMC itself. The lower DMC communicates with the master DMC through a predetermined protocol, performs continuous update of management information, receives the handling instruction, which is managed and requested in the DMS, via the master DMC, and transmits a response with respect to the handling instruction. |
