The engine (10) has a combustion chamber (12) supplied by fresh gas and evacuates burned gas by a pipe (14). The pipe is arranged in a cylinder head (16) and emerges in the chamber. The pipe is closed outside of the chamber by a closing element (18) i.e. reciprocating valve. The valve is controlled by an electromagnetic actuating unit between a lifted position in which the valve is retracted and a lowered position in which the valve protrudes inside the pipe to close the pipe. Hydraulic blocking unit (20) e.g. check valve, maintains the element in the lifted or lowered position.
