PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrochromic device with which excellent color development property is obtained and clear images can be repetitively and stably obtained. SOLUTION: A porous electrode adsorbed with a pyridine compound which is a dye of an organic color EC is formed on a transparent electrode constituting an electrode structure. The pyridine compound is expressed by general formula (1) or formula (2). In the formulas (1), (2), n, m, l are an integer of 1 to 10.
