PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more quickly search a program desired by a user by reflecting a state of a contract and allow the user to shift to a contract procedure as required when the program is not contracted without the need for complicated trouble or the like. SOLUTION: The receiver includes: an EPG information processing section 301 for acquiring and storing program information of a program guide together with its attribute information; a preference database (DB) 321 for recording attribute information of a received broadcast program; a genre database (DB) 322; a contract information storage section 303 for storing view contract information of the broadcast program; a key operation entry section 82 for instructing viewing of a broadcast program not contracted; a searching means for searching program information of the program guide stored in the EPG information processing section 301 on the basis of the attribute information stored in the preference DB 321 and the genre DB 322 and the view contract information stored in the contract information storage section 303 according to the instruction from the key operation entry section 82; and a channel list generating section 302 for selecting uncontracted program information with a high correlation of the attribute information and displaying the selected uncontracted program information on a monitor 3,001 according to a display format of a display format storage section 323.
