The present invention relates to a nail system for fixation of an olecran on osteotomy or fracture. The nail system of the present invention is secure ly held in place in the intramedullary canal to ensure proper anatomic reduc tion of an osteotomy. Further, the invention provides an insertion device an d a method for inserting the osteotomy nail system, securing the osteotomy n ail system, and fixing the osteotomy.
