PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe scanner capable of scanning while image degradation is reduced matched with the shapes of breasts in various sizes. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe scanner comprises a tank for receiving the breast of a subject, which is filled with an ultrasonic wave propagating agent for propagating ultrasonic waves, an ultrasonic vibrator for transmitting and receiving the ultrasonic waves, and a moving mechanism for holding the ultrasonic vibrator and linearly moving it so as to perform the echo scan of the breast. The moving mechanism includes an elevating and lowering mechanism for moving the ultrasonic vibrator in a vertical direction matched with the position of the body surface of the breast and an inclining mechanism for turning the ultrasonic vibrator within a parallel surface in the vertical direction to a moving direction matched with the inclination of the body surface of the breast. By the configuration, a focus position is attained matched with the shapes of the breasts in various sizes, the echo scan is performed vertically to a slope, and thus the image degradation is reduced.
