A method, apparatus and system for initiating a service change in a wireless system, the wireless system including an originating side and a terminating side. The invention includes initiating a modification request in a wireless system, wherein the modification request is a service change from a first mode to a second mode. The invention further includes modifying a terminal from a first mode to a second mode if the modification request is accepted by the terminal, and completing a radio bearer assignment after the modification request is accepted. |
