An object recognition device includes an image input unit, an object dictionary unit, and a processing unit. The image input unit acquires image data. The object dictionary unit stores an object condition for identifying the object type according to the hierarchical structure of the object type. The processing unit successively correlates the object condition according to the hierarchy so as to narrow the object conditions to be correlated and identify the object type captured in the image data.
