A method and a system for controlling a transducer of a probe are provided to obtain a clear ultrasonic image by rotating the transducer by a desired angle. A probe(100) includes a transducer(112), an input unit(114), and a driving unit(116). The transducer transmits an ultrasonic signal to an object and receives an ultrasonic echo signal reflected from the object. The input unit receives rotation information for rotating the transducer from a user. The driving unit rotates the transducer. A controller(122) generates a control signal for rotating the transducer based on the rotation information. The driving unit rotates the transducer based on the control signal.
