A passenger air bag switching device is provided to operate the passenger air bag switching device even in cases where a start key is not available. A passenger air bag switching device includes a housing unit(100), a key cylinder unit(200), a guide cylinder unit(300), a lock plug unit(400), and a base plate(500). The key cylinder unit is arranged in the housing unit, and includes a key cylinder(210) having a center with a through-hole(201) and an elastic member(220) for providing elastic force in the axial direction of the key cylinder. The guide cylinder unit is arranged in the housing, and supports one end of the elastic member of the key cylinder unit and guides the key cylinder to the inside of the guide cylinder unit. The lock plug unit includes a lock plug(410) and an elastic member(430). The lock plug has one end housed in the key cylinder and the other end equipped with a lock plug contact. The lock plug has a lock protrusion(421) to be engaged with a lock protrusion accommodation unit of the guide cylinder unit. The elastic member provides axial elastic force to the lock plug. The base plate has one surface mounted with a stationary contact(510) connected/disconnected to/from the lock plug contact and the other surface mounted with a connector pin for electrical connection with the stationary contact. The base plate is joined to the housing unit. When the key cylinder moves axially toward the base plate, axial rotation limitation caused due to the engagement of the lock protrusion and the lock protrusion accommodation unit is canceled.
