An apparatus for monitoring a fire state in a power distributor and a method thereof are provided to prevent an electric fire due to the aging of a cable in the power distributor. An apparatus for monitoring a fire state in a power distributor includes a temperature sensor(10), a current sensor(20), a contact sensor(30), an analog-digital converter(50), a controller(60), a data memory(70), a voice memory(80), and an alarm device(100). The temperature and current sensor sense a frequency component of current passing through an electric wire and the temperature inside of the power distributor. The contact sensor senses whether the rodent is entered in the power distributor. The analog-digital converter converts analog signal sensed from the sensors into a digital signal. The controller determines that the digital signal is a symptom of an electric fire or not. The data memory sets an abnormal state level of the electric wire, and the voice memory stores voice signal of warning contents.
