PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for a battery having excellent low temperature sealing performance, sealing performance, and resistance to contents, even in laminate laminated by either method of a thermal lamination method and a dry lamination method. SOLUTION: In the packaging material for the battery formed by laminating in order at least a substrate layer 12 of the outermost layer, a barrier layer 13 made of aluminum foil, a chemical conversion treatment layer 13a, an adhesive layer 8, and a heat seal layer 14 of the innermost layer, the heat seal layer 14 comprises at least a first polypropylene layer and a second polypropylene layer, and the second polypropylene layer is arranged on the innermost layer side.
