<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use the value of a density adjustment parameter obtained by an automatic density adjustment even when toner is forcibly exhausted. <P>SOLUTION: A color laser printer 10 performs toner forcible exhaust such that a forcible exhaust electrostatic latent image is formed on a photoreceptor drum 38, then developed with toner to form a forcible exhaust toner image, and disposed of without being transferred to paper. Immediately after that, the color laser printer 10 performs the automatic density adjustment such that a plurality of density detection toner images of different densities are formed on the photoreceptor drum 38 and a development bias is set so that the actual density of each density detection toner image and the predetermined reference density of this density detection toner image may match. Since the automatic density adjustment is performed after the toner remaining on a developing roller 36 for a long time is forcibly discharged, toner whose condition is same as that when the automatic density adjustment is performed is used for development thereafter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
