A pretreating apparatus and a pretreating method using the same are provided to prevent an analysis device from being clogged, by filtering off solid components from the wastewater before inputting the wastewater into the analysis device. Wastewater from a manufacturing process of terephtalic acid flows through a wastewater inflow unit(102). A filtering funnel(104) receives the wastewater discharged from the wastewater inflow unit. A filter paper unit(120) is installed below the filtering funnel to filter the waste water. A sample container(106) is installed below the filter paper unit to store the filtered wastewater. A sample supply unit(140) is installed at one side of the sample container to supply the filtered water to an analysis device.
