EXTENSIBLE INTERNET TRAFFIC MEASUREMENT SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE AND THE METHOD

A system and a method for measuring Internet traffic are provided to implement an extendable Internet traffic measurement environment through quickly processing data by adopting a hierarchical structure. A traffic collecting unit(10) collects traffic that flows through a network from a network equipment. Multiple servers(20) store data collected from the traffic collecting unit(10) in a storage unit(30) having a sufficient storage space, and transmit the stored data to an external application device according to a corresponding request from an upper source. The data storage unit(30) stores data. When a request is received from an arbitrary server, a network information processing unit(40) searches data from the storage unit(30) and processes it. A master server(50), which manages multiple servers(20), transfers the data obtained from the arbitrary server to the external application device in response to a corresponding request from the external application device.
