<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing changing of image density just after correcting the amount of light, and its controlling method. <P>SOLUTION: When the amount of light is measured at a time t1, a controller CPU calculates a corrected value ND of the amount of light. Here, the corrected value ND of the amount of light calculated in the preceding time which is the corrected value of the amount of light before measuring the amount of light at the time t1, is made NDold, and the corrected value ND of the amount of light calculated based on the measured value of the amount of light at the time t1 is made NDnew. When the corrected value NDnew of the amount of light is calculated, the controller CPU83 changes stepwise the corrected value ND of the amount of light by a specified changing value α from the corrected value NDold of the amount of light on every number of printing sheets in the direction approaching the corrected value NDnew of the amount of light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
