PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate drying of ink applied to a transparent substrate. SOLUTION: In sticking spacer particles 26 to a TFT substrate 10, the TFT substrate 10, which is placed on a placing stage 31 in a nearly horizontal position is heated with a heater 39 (a heating means), in advance; and in a state, in which upper surface temperature of the TFT substrate 10 is risen, the ink 28 containing the spacer particles 26 is applied to the upper surface of the TFT substrate 10 with an inkjet device 30. The applied ink 28 requires only a short time period for its drying, because the evaporation of the applied ink 28 is started, immediately after the application by the heat generated by the TFT substrate 10 itself.
