PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of image processing by eliminating a waiting state of a transfer end of a controller side in the case of transferring image data to a plotter through the controller and a general purpose bus. SOLUTION: This device for generating a start signal VEN of transfer and transferring an image from a specific address area of a transfer source 8 to a transfer destination 13 through the general purpose bus 9 is provided with a first counting means for counting clocks on the general purpose bus; after start signal VEN occurs, a count control means for making the first counting means countable when there is no access to the specific address area on the general purpose bus and initializing the first counting means where there is access after the start signal is generated; and an end determining means for generating an end signal when the first counting means counts a first set value. Further, the device is provided with a second counting means for counting a transfer amount when the start signal VEN is generated, and the first counting means is made operable after the second counting means counts a second set value.
