<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor having excellent gas-tightness between the air side atmosphere and the measuring gas side atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor 1 has a sensor element 2, an element side insulator 3 and a housing 4. The housing 4 has on the periphery, a tool fitting part 41 for fitting a mounting tool for mounting the gas sensor 1 on a measuring spot, and has an insulator receiving face 400 formed on the inside face, for receiving a stepped abutting part 300 provided on the peripheral part 30 of the element side insulator 3. The insulator receiving face 400 of the housing 4 is engaged with the stepped abutting part 300 of the element side insulator 3 through a packing 5. The air side atmosphere 120 on the furthermore base end side than the packing 5 is separated gas-tightly from the measuring gas side atmosphere 110 on the tip side by the packing 5. As for the insulator receiving face 400, the opening angle θ which is an angle formed by a pair of contour lines shown on a section by a plane including the center axis M of the gas sensor 1 is 100° or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
