A composition for treating obesity comprising metformin is provided to increase appetite suppression and fat reduction effects by improving leptin sensitivity, and restore leptin sensitivity in an object having leptin resistance. A composition for treating obesity comprises metformin as an oral biguanide insulin-sensitizing agent, and further comprises leptin as a hormone derived from adipocyte, wherein the daily dosage of metformin is 1mg/kg-20g/kg and the daily dosage of leptin is 1-1000 mug/kg.
