<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize power consumption since a digital camera outputs a direct print request until direct printing becomes possible. <P>SOLUTION: While a printer processes a print request from another interface when the digital camera sends a direct print request to the printer, only a direct print reservation is made and the digital camera starts a power saving operation mode.
