<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting a biomolecule using a field-effect transistor, without immobilizing biomolecules. <P>SOLUTION: The field-effect transistor is provided with a substrate constituted of a semiconductor material; a source region and a drain region, formed separated from each other within the substrate, and doped with polarity reverse to that of the substrate; a channel region arranged between the source region and the drain region, an insulating layer arranged on the channel region and having detection surface, and a reference electrode arranged separatedly on the insulating layer; and the method includes a step for providing the first sample containing the first target biomolecule onto the detection surface of the field-effect transistor, and a step for measuring the change in the electrical signal of the field-effect transistor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
