PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging element capable of mixing idle signals with signal electric charges by suppressing deterioration in the case of forming an idle transfer stage and carrying out transfer. SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging apparatus disclosed herein includes: a vertical transfer section 4 for transferring the signal electric charges from a photoelectric conversion section 2 in a vertical direction and a horizontal transfer section 5 for transferring the signal electric charges from the vertical transfer section in a horizontal direction, and each of a plurality of vertical transfer stages 4a configuring the vertical transfer section is provided with transfer electrodes of a plurality of phases. The transfer electrodes of the vertical final stage 4f include at least two-phase independent transfer electrodes (V3R, V5R) independent of the other vertical transfer stages, the same electrode configuration is repeated in the unit of n-columns, and in common among the same column in the unit of the n-column unit each, and independent of the independent transfer electrodes of the other columns in the unit of the n-columns. The signal transfer stages from which the signal electric charges are read and the idle transfer stages from which no signal electric charges are read are alternately formed, the signal electric charges of the signal transfer stages and the idle signals of the succeeding idle transfer stages are mixed in the vertical final stages and thereafter the mixed signals are transferred to the horizontal transfer stage.
