A battery charger with a separate control power for preventing excess temperature is provided to extend the life span of a battery by opening a battery charging terminal connector to stop charge in case that the temperature of the battery is over a limit value. A battery charger with a separate control power for preventing excess temperature includes a battery charger(2), a battery charging terminal, a control power supplying terminal, and a battery charging terminal connector. The battery charging terminal supplies battery charging voltage as first output voltage of the battery charger(2). The controlling power supplying terminal supplies controlling apparatus input voltage as second output voltage of the battery charger(2). The battery charging terminal connector is formed between the battery charger(2) and the battery charging terminal, and is opened when the temperature of a battery(9) is over a limit value.
