摘要 <p>A desiccant device having a metal halide which is less apt to deliquesce in an environment where the product is used/stored; and a process for producing the device. The process, which is for producing a desiccant device (1) having a moisture-absorbing material (3), comprises a first drying step (S1), silica gel dipping step (S2), second drying step (S3), lithium chloride dipping step (S4), and third drying step (S5) and additionally further includes, as subsequent steps, a forced deliquescence step (S6) and a fourth drying step (S7). Consequently, excess part of the lithium chloride in which the moisture-absorbing material (3) has been dipped is removed and the surface area of the silica gel not coated with the lithium chloride accounts for 50% or more of the whole silica-gel surface area. As a result, although the surface of the moisture-absorbing material (3) usually partly undergoes deliquescence upon moisture absorption during use, the liquid water resulting from the moisture absorption by the lithium chloride is absorbed by the silica gel. Thus, the material can hold the liquid water and does not cause dripping.</p>
