PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake air cooling system and an intake air cooling method capable of cooling intake air of an internal combustion engine, without requiring a complicated constitution. SOLUTION: This intake air cooling system has a stack 22 having a large number of fine parallel passages for flowing air and generating a temperature gradient on the inside when propagating acoustic energy, an angular velocity control means 70 controlling angular velocity of the acoustic energy propagating to the stack 22 from the internal combustion engine 1, and a cooling means 23 cooling the acoustic energy propagation side of the stack 22.
