PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrical equipment and a communicating function normality determining method in the same capable of determining the normality of a communicating function without using an external determining means and an additional circuit. SOLUTION: A normality determining portion 14 determines that the communicating function of a self outdoor unit 10 is normal when it receives a signal from any one of indoor units 21-24, and writes a normal flag in EEPROM 13. Further, the normality determining portion 14 judges that the communicating function of the self outdoor unit 10 might be abnormal, and eliminates the normal flag of EEPROM 13, when it does not receive the signal from any of the indoor units 21-24. Thus, the normality of the communicating function of the outdoor unit 10 can be determined by confirming the normal flag of EEPROM 13, when the abnormality occurs in an air conditioner, and its operation is stopped.
