PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder enabling favorable image recording by avoiding color mixing fluctuation in performing image recording by reciprocating a recording head in a main scanning direction using a pigment ink and a dye ink, and an image recording method. SOLUTION: In the bi-directional printing for performing image recording by reciprocating the recording head 12 in the main scanning direction, nozzles ejecting CMY inks and a K ink are so arranged that the pigment ink (K ink) is ejected after the ejection of the dye ink (CMY inks), avoiding beading caused by a difference in the infiltration rate between the dye ink and the pigment ink. Furthermore, the K ink has particles with particle diameters of their color particles of 120 nm or smaller occupying 95% or more per unit volume, and infiltration to the recording medium of the pigment ink is enhanced by increasing the infiltration rate of the dye ink, thus enabling the beading to be further avoided.
