AUTOMATIC MUSIC SUMMARIZATION METHOD AND SYSTEM USING SEGMENT SIMILARITY

A method and a system for automatically summarizing music on the basis of segment similarity are provided to be applied to a music search service and a music genre classification service and offer various sample music in which request items of a user is better considered by automatically extracting an important part of digital music on the basis of the segment similarity using vector quantization in consideration of general structure of public music. A feature vector extracting unit(100) divides a music signal into a plurality of frames, and extracts feature vectors of the respective frames. A vector quantization unit(101) performs the vector quantization coding of the feature vectors of the respective frames. A segment similarity calculating unit(102) calculates segment similarity and extracts N maximum similar segment pairs.
