<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator achieving fuel cells with which stable operation can be performed easily and well by surely preventing shortcut and flooding of reactant gas and supplying it evenly all over an MEA. <P>SOLUTION: The separator has a secondary surface (inner wall face) 20b, a gas passage 22 including a partial passage 22a crossing over the direction of gravity, and a rib part which consists of a primary surface which separates the partial passage on a surface being contact with an anode or a cathode. Hydrophilicity 200 of the primary surface is made higher than that of the secondary surface. And in lower side 201 in the gravity direction of the primary surface and in upper side in the gravity direction of the primary part where the secondary surface stands next to the primary surface, hydrophilicity of at least one of the secondary parts where the secondary surface stands next to the primary surface is made higher than that of the secondary surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
