PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner, quickly recovering the air conditioning state before power failure when the power supply is restarted after the occurrence of power failure. SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes: a refrigerant circuit formed by sequentially piping and connecting at least one variable displacement compressor 21; a heat source side heat exchanger 22; an expansion valve 11; and a utilization side heat exchanger 12 like a circle. The air conditioner further includes: an operating condition detecting means 5 for detecting the operating conditions of predetermined units including at least the compressor 21 and the expansion valve 11 held by the refrigerant circuit 10; an operating condition storage means 6 storing the operating condition detected by the operating condition detecting means 5; a power supply and failure detecting means 8 for detecting the power supply and the power failure of a power supply 7 supplied to the refrigerant circuit 10; and a predetermined unit control means 9 for setting the operating condition before power failure stored in the operating condition storage means 5 to a control target value and controlling the predetermined unit when the occurrence of power failure and the subsequent restart of power supply are detected by the power supply and failure detecting means 8.
