PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter-mixed article sales prevention method wherein reliability in foreign matter notification is improved.

SOLUTION: This foreign matter-mixed article sales prevention method has: a commodity identification information acquisition step for acquiring commodity identification information through a cash register; a detection target decision step for deciding whether a commodity identified by the commodity identification information is set to be detected in reference to a commodity table wherein information related to the commodity is associated to the commodity identification information and is stored; a foreign matter detection decision step for deciding whether the foreign matter is detected in an article or not on the basis of information acquired from a foreign matter detection device when the commodity is set to be detected; and a foreign matter detection notification step for notifying that the foreign matter is detected when the foreign matter is detected in the article.
