A nontoxic smell reduced poly(vinyl chloride)-based resin composition for an electric wire coating material, and an electric wire using the composition are provided to reduce smell without the deterioration of physical properties. A smell reduced poly(vinyl chloride)-based resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a poly(vinyl chloride)-based resin as a base resin; 10-100 parts by weight of a cyclohexane-based plasticizer; and 1-20 parts by weight of a hydrotalcite-based stabilizer. Preferably the composition comprises further any one selected from the group consisting of zeolite, nanoclay and their mixture as a deodorizer. Preferably the cyclohexane-based plasticizer is at least one selected from 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid diisononyl ester, 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid diisodecyl ester, 1,2-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid diisoundecyl ester, and 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid diethylhexyl ester.
