<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat accumulator capable of miniaturizing an actuator, by restraining motive power of the actuator for pressing a nucleus starting trigger. <P>SOLUTION: This heat accumulator 1 has a vessel 3 stored in a water jacket 2b formed between a cylinder bore wall 2b1 and a cylinder block outer wall 2b2, a heat accumulating agent 4 sealed in this vessel 3, the nucleus starting trigger 6 for starting a nucleus of this heat accumulating agent 4, and the actuator 5 pressing this nucleus starting trigger 6. This nucleus starting trigger 6 has a plurality of crack parts 7 peripherally arranged around a projecting part 6a.
