PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit for driving the opening and closure of a knit fabric guiding plate, which has a driving part for driving the knit fabric guiding plate different from the driving part of a roller of a knit fabric pull-down device. SOLUTION: The set-up device 7 for setting up a knit fabric is vertically movable by a vertical motion driving device 6. The knit fabric guiding plate 8 is openable and closeable and the opening and closing motion is mechanically associated with the vertical motion of the set-up device 7 by an association mechanism 52.
