PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reader that can be attached to a conventional document reader without increasing an installation space, and has a cleaning member capable of cleaning the surface of a conveyance roller reliably. SOLUTION: A document guide member 25 is extended along the axial direction of a feed roller 23, and a flat document guide surface 25a is formed at a portion opposite to platen glass 31. A document portion, which is positioned between the document guide surface 25a and the platen glass 31, becomes a read position. The cleaning member 4 is attached by insertion along the axial direction of the feed roller 23 between the document guide member 25 and the feed roller 23. The cleaning member 4 is deformed and is pressure-welded to the surface of the feed roller 23, and a foreign matter, such as paper powder adhering to the surface of the feed roller 23, is wiped off, thus cleaning the surface of the feed roller 23 continuously, and hence removing the foreign matter.
